The bloodlines behind every kitten

Champion bloodlines we hand-pick from.

We are an AVS-licensed cattery, not a breeder — we don’t raise kittens, we import them. Every CatzillaSG British Shorthair kitten traces back to championship-bloodline parents at the selective breeders we partner with abroad — internationally registered with WCF, CFA, TICA, and ANCATS. Fully health-screened, genetically tested, and chosen for plush coat, round face, and the famously calm British temperament.

Common questions

About British Shorthairs.

How big do British Shorthairs get?

British Shorthairs are medium-to-large cats. Males typically reach 5–7kg, females 4–5kg. They mature slowly and often don’t reach full size until 3–4 years old.

Are British Shorthairs good for first-time cat owners in Singapore?

Absolutely. Their famously calm, easygoing nature makes them one of the most beginner-friendly pedigree breeds. They tolerate routines, travel well, and adapt easily to apartment living.

Do British Shorthairs shed a lot?

Less than most long-haired breeds, but their dense plush double coat does shed seasonally. A weekly brush keeps loose hair under control and minimises hairballs.

What colours do British Shorthairs come in?

Many — Blue (the classic), Lilac, Chocolate, Black, Cinnamon, Fawn, plus golden and silver shaded variants. We specialise in golden shaded, blue, and rarer colours like chocolate and cinnamon. Contact us for current availability.

How long do British Shorthairs live?

Well-cared-for British Shorthairs can live up to 20 years. Our lifetime congenital health guarantee covers any inherited condition for the kitten’s entire life.

British Shorthair · Q&A

Questions, answered.

Everything new owners ask about CatzillaSG British Shorthair kittens — visiting, our process, care, and bringing your kitten home.

How much does a British Shorthair kitten cost in Singapore?
We don’t publish kitten pricing online. The right match is rarely about the lowest price — it’s about chemistry between the kitten and the family bringing them home, and that only becomes clear when you spend time together. We invite you to visit our AVS-licensed Singapore cattery, meet the kittens in person, see their personalities, and ask us anything about care, paperwork or the import journey. Book a visit on our make-an-appointment page, or message us on WhatsApp at +65 8743 7068 for current pricing and availability.
Is CatzillaSG an AVS-licensed cattery in Singapore?
Yes. CatzillaSG is an AVS-licensed Singapore cattery, operating since 2021 — we are not breeders. Every kitten in our care is hand-picked and imported from a small group of vetted, internationally-registered championship breeders in the UK, Australia and Europe. From the day they land in Singapore the kittens live at our licensed cattery, where we look after them until they’re ready for their new home.
What health guarantee comes with a CatzillaSG British Shorthair?
Every CatzillaSG kitten is backed by a lifetime genetic guarantee. The parent cats at our partner breeders abroad are health-screened (including for HCM and PKD — the two most common British Shorthair concerns), so every kitten we import is confirmed free of hereditary disease. Should a congenital illness lead to a kitten’s passing, we honour our written contract with a replacement kitten or a refund — your choice. Two vet checks, full vaccinations and microchipping are included before handover.
Which British Shorthair colours do you offer?
Our most sought-after colours are Blue Golden Shaded, Lilac Golden Shaded, Cinnamon Golden Shaded and Black Silver Shaded. We also occasionally offer rarer Chocolate, Lilac and Fawn British Shorthairs, and the long-coated British Longhair (BLH) in the same colour family. Currently-available colours are listed on our Available Kittens page; expected arrivals are announced on our Waitlist.
How much grooming does a British Shorthair need?
British Shorthairs are exceptionally low-maintenance. A 5-minute brush once or twice a week with a soft slicker is enough to keep the plush double coat shed-free. They self-groom thoroughly and rarely need bathing. Their calm, indoor-friendly temperament makes them ideal for Singapore apartment living, especially in air-conditioned homes.
Can I visit the kittens before reserving?
Yes — you’re welcome at our AVS-licensed cattery in Singapore by appointment. Visits are by appointment only (for the welfare of the kittens in our care) and can be booked on our make-an-appointment page. Each session runs about 30 minutes — you can meet the kitten, see how they behave in a real home environment, and ask anything about care, paperwork or the import journey.
Are British Shorthairs suitable for Singapore’s climate and HDB flats?
Yes — British Shorthairs are an ideal Singapore apartment cat. They are calm, quiet and happily indoor-only, which suits HDB and condo living. Their plush double coat means they are most comfortable in air-conditioned or well-ventilated homes; keep them cool and hydrated and they settle happily into our tropical climate.
What is a British Shorthair’s temperament — are they good with children?
British Shorthairs are famously easy-going, even-tempered and undemanding. They are affectionate without being clingy, rarely scratch or bite, and tolerate gentle handling well — making them excellent with respectful children and a relaxed choice for first-time owners and families.
How long do British Shorthairs live?
With good care, British Shorthairs typically live 12–16 years, and often longer. Because our kittens come from HCM- and PKD-screened parents and arrive fully health-checked, vaccinated and microchipped, they start life with the best possible foundation for a long, healthy life in Singapore.
Where can I buy a healthy British Shorthair kitten in Singapore?
CatzillaSG is an AVS-licensed Singapore cattery specialising in British Shorthair and British Longhair kittens imported from vetted, championship-bloodline breeders abroad. Every kitten is health-screened, vaccinated, microchipped and backed by a lifetime genetic guarantee. See current arrivals on our Available Kittens page, or message us on WhatsApp at +65 8743 7068 to arrange a visit.
Are British Shorthair cats hypoallergenic?
No, British Shorthairs are not hypoallergenic. Allergies come from the Fel d 1 protein in saliva and dander, not coat length. They shed moderately year-round, with heavier seasonal sheds. No cat is truly hypoallergenic, so allergy-prone families should meet a kitten first.
